Young Adult Treatment: Legal Drugs?

Spice Addiction Example

Spice is recognized as a health hazard

Sober College young adult treatment program acknowledges the health problems associated with drug use. The different mental and physical side effects drug abuse causes varies between individual substances. Today there are many attempts by companies to circumvent the illegality of narcotics by creating products that are accepted legally.  Although “Synthetic Marijuana” and “Spice” are legally sold in shops around the country, they are quickly becoming illegal in 38 states due to health risks.

Sober College educates its students regarding their urges and how these urges can cause them to look for “legal” ways to get high; therefore, they are taught about the dangers of these so-called legal substances and their potential health risks. This knowledge helps the student and their treatment team to create a program of recovery that will give them the best chance at success.

Along with education on the dangers of legal substances, students are encouraged to learn more about themselves. The goal of this is to teach students how to become self-aware and to find strength in their weaknesses. Consequently, students gain confidence while learning to build successful futures. Sober College and its young adult treatment program offer students a strong program of recovery allowing them to get the most out of their time in treatment.
