How to Become a Counselor in Training (CIT) in Connecticut
Below are the requirements to become a CIT in Connecticut based on the Connecticut Certification Board, Inc. (MSACCB) site.
Training and Education
- 60 Hours (Addiction Specific) Including: 6 hours of CCB-Approved Ethics Including 6 hours CCB Certification Process Overview Workshop Effective September, 2010, no equivalent courses will be accepted
- CAC Exam (IC&RC ADC Exam)
Optional: CIT’s are eligible to sit for the CAC Exam
Annual Renewal Standards Must be completed per year to maintain credential- 30 Hours of addiction-specific training 1 hour of CCB-approved ethics
