Sober College offers equine therapy as part of their young adult treatment program. Equine therapy uses horses to help students learn about and understand their emotions. Horses are able to sense a humans emotions in a way other humans cannot. If someone is nervous, anxious, or frustrated the horse will know even if the young adult seems calm and collected. Mens Residential Treatment

As part of our mission to teach our residents that it is indeed possible to have fun in sobriety, we recently took our Friar House Stage 1 recovery group to a local Go-Kart track and let them run wild in this positive and fun-filled environment. Closely supervised by three trained staff members, residents were allowed to hang out, race go-karts and play video games in the arcade! This week, a few of the male students from Sober College, A Young Adult Addiction Treatment Center, saddled up for Equine Therapy.  Therapists say that young people who ordinarily shun physical and emotional closeness with other people can often accept it from a horse. Experiential therapies are integrated throughout the Sober College clinical program.
