Physical fitness plays an important role in early sobriety because of its mental and physical benefits. For example, in physical fitness, the release of endorphins naturally helps students “feel” happier along with gain self-confidence. All of this provides a foundation to sobriety; therefore, it’s beneficial for students to find a physical activity that they enjoy so they can reap the natural benefits of exercise. Just recently, Sober College took a handful of its residents to Sky High Sports, a trampoline park located in Woodland Hills, CA. While a child-like, innocent Continue Reading »

College Drinking Rises

Student getting college credit

College-age drinkers average nine drinks when they get drunk, government health officials said Tuesday. That surprising statistic is part of a new report highlighting the dangers of binge drinking, which usually means four to five drinks at a time. Overall, about 1 in 6 U.S. adults surveyed said they had binged on alcohol at least once in the previous month, though it was more than 1 in 4 for those ages 18 to 34. And that’s likely an underestimate: Alcohol sales figures suggest people are buying a lot more alcohol Continue Reading »
