This last weekend Sober College men’s residential program had a chance to experience a different type of Alcohol Anonymous meeting. Our men’s program traveled to a sober men’s retreat and participated in their recovery by fellowshipping with other sober young people and attending a 12-step speaker meeting. Drug Treatment Program Creates Video Intentions Project for 2013

Sober College, young adult drug treatment center, houses a unique Music Department for students that attend the facility. Sober College has an on-site professional grade recording studio, musical instruments, amps, pro-tools and more. Music director Jeff W. encourages students to get in touch with their musical talents and goals. Food Bank to be of service to their community  and helped sort food for the families that needed food during the holiday season. Decrease in Prescription Drug Abuse

While according to the 2011 National Survey on Drug Use and Health finds that young adult prescription drug abuse is down by .3 million young adult abusers, findings also show that drugs such as heroin and marijuana continue to rise. Studies reveal that young adults who engage in regular exercise are less likely to abuse drugs and alcohol. These new studies revealed that exercises reduce self-administration as well as protective effects in substance abuse treatment. As a whole these studies have provided convincing evidence to support the development of exercise-based interventions to reduce compulsive patterns of drug intake in clinical and at-risk populations.
