Sober Living and Aftercare
Aftercare is encouraged for all young adults moving out of a structured environment. It serves as a final step on a path to successful independent living.
Once You’re Here You’re Family
Residents who complete the Sober College program and move out on their own are encouraged to stay connected to their Sober College community and participate in our aftercare program. Each resident’s after care program is individualized, and constructed based on input from the resident, their family, and their treatment team, which includes their counselor, therapist, psychiatrist and academic coach.
Alumni who participate in aftercare and move out and live locally, or those that join Archstone Sober Living regularly come to Sober College on Friday mornings for our weekly Community Meeting and Creative Arts Day. Alumni visit with old staff members and have therapy at the learning center. This helps the current Sober College students see where they could be when they leave, as well as the alumni who can be reminded of where they came from.
Extended Care programs can include but are not limited to:
- Weekly sessions with therapist, psychiatrist, and/or counselor
- Transportation to and from appointments
- Meetings with Academic Coach, and academic assistance
- Spectrum Fitness Club Membership
- Life Skills coaching; money management, apartment upkeep etc.
Archstone Sober Living
Sober College offers it’s program graduates the opportunity to move into the men’s sober living, Archstone Apartments. This sober Living is solely for those residents that went through both the primary and apartment portions of the Sober College program. Most sober living members are either attending a local community college or working in the area. This gives our men opportunity to stay with sober people they know from treatment, and who they are comfortable with.
Archstone Sober Living has a House Manager in addition to an on call staff member who helps monitor the apartment cleanliness, helps with grocery shopping and transportation, and helps to ensure the residents sobriety. Random drug testing is done on a regular basis, and certain expectations are held for all sober living members, including that they are either in school or working, and are maintaining sobriety.
