Giving Students Creative Outlets

On Monday afternoons Sarah Frank, Creative Arts Director, and Jeff Wilkin, Music Director, host the residents and help them find projects that interest them into the creative World. From Metal to Jewelry making, to impressionistic paintings, residents are shown millions of outlets for expression. On Tuesday Night our very own Collin Palomares, Film Director, takes residents on a ride into the world of film making, film editing, acting, writing, and even directing. Residents are able to go from an idea into shooting their very own short film right on campus. Wednesdays, the entire Creative Arts Department comes together to collaborate on projects that include all three aspects of our program. Combining film, music, and art together creates huge projects that bring the community together in a creative way, allowing student to express themselves as well as learn leadership roles and what it’s like to work as a team in real life. In addition to these three afternoons we offer a lunchtime creative writing club for those who want to express themselves in a new way as well as a textile arts club where residents can create their own piece of art they use on a day to day basis.
