Young Adult Rehab Teaches that Sobriety is Fun

The students of Sober College young adult rehab recently participated in the San Fernando Valley Alcoholics Anonymous Convention. This event provided them with an opportunity to network with other members of AA and to socialize in an alcohol-free environment. Not only did students attend marathon meetings but they also enjoyed themselves at the convention dances. Fitness is one of Five Core Competencies of the Sober College young adult drug treatment program because of the benefits it has on a young adults recovery process. A great fitness activity that has been enjoyed by many young adults is skateboarding. “The sober fun our young adults are experiencing while in treatment is not just sober fun, it is life skills training on a larger scale. Building a Community of Sober Young Adults

This past week our students and staff took part in Community Day, where both staff and students participated in experiential therapy and bonding activities, designed to develop trust and camaraderie within the young adult community at Sober College.
