Drug Rehab Program

Last night I heard a speaker at Alcoholics Anonymous meeting who is on a hit television show, that I am sure many of you have seen or heard of, about young adults suffering from addiction. Her share was relatable and I was able to connect with it in many ways. She provided two interesting facts during her share that I thought were important: 7,000 14-26 year-olds die every month from pill overdoses and 2,000 14-21 year-olds try prescription drugs for the first time every day…. Sober College has given me Continue Reading »

Young Adult Treatment and Cocaine Addiction

Cocaine Treatment

Cocaine addiction has been researched by many people in the medical field. The University of Cambridge has found a difference between recreational cocaine users, and cocaine addicts. Dr Karen Ersche and her team acquired results of brain scan tests that indicates recreational users have a larger “frontal lobe” in the brain which serves as the decision and self-control center. Having a difference in their brain structure shows that cocaine addicts are not at fault for their use and proves that it is a “disease”. Dr. Ersche says that “…preventative strategies might Continue Reading »
