When does someone need Drug and Alcohol Treatment?

Changing friends, getting into trouble, and decrease in school or job performance are tell tale signs that your child’s drug use is not just experimentation. The age at which most young adults begin experimenting with drugs and alcohol is getting younger and younger as the years go on. Many young adults say the first time they drank was as early as 11. If these young adults become problem drinkers, more than likely they will begin to see consequences by the time they get to high school.

How Drug Treatment at Sober College Can Help

Sober College has been successfully helping young adults overcome drug and alcohol addiction for the past five years.  The experienced Treatment Team at Sober College consists of counselors, therapists, academic advisers, mentors, and psychiatrists.  The focus of Sober College is to provide students with knowledge about their alcoholism and addiction, show them how to live a happy healthy life, and teach them tools for relapse prevention.

Drug and alcohol addiction can be detrimental to the family as a whole.  Sober College not only helps their students, but the family to heal as a whole.  One in ten Americans are alcoholics or addicts, and it is possible to become sober at a young age, and remain sober without relapse.

Sober College helps young adults to overcome their addictions, and helps rejuvenate them with the motivation to become a successful student.  Many young drug and alcohol addicts are very intelligent, but they lack in a motivation to succeed in school.  Sober College provides resources that no other drug rehabs dealing with young adults is able to provide, on-site college classes from an accredited university. Sober College offers college courses on-site through its partnership with Woodbury University, a WASC accredited institution, Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the highest accreditation that any West Coast school can achieve.

The staff have helped countless students to achieve a long lasting, happy sobriety.  Sober College has helped young adults seeking addiction treatment for the past five years. Many of the staff at Sober College went through the program, and have developed the innate ability to utilize their own experience to help the current students.

Our Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program Specifically for young adults.

Newly Sober Young Adults or those needing to be in a sober and controlled environment have specific challenges that are often overlooked by traditional transitional programs, sober living environments and educational settings. The Sober College response comes in the form of our integrated curriculum, which frames the program for delivering life skills to participants.

The Five Core Competencies:

  • Sobriety - a life free of mind and mood altering substances;
  • Life Skills - ability to manage stress and daily challenges;
  • Productivity - advancement in vocation and/or education;
  • Emotional Intelligence - effective management of feelings and emotions;
  • Fitness - being of sound mind and body.

The Concept of Sober College is based on three core ideas:

  • Age Specific Treatment - Treatment and recovery for young adults is more effective when they are surrounded by others their same age.
  • Environment - Given the right environment, young adults will respond positively.
  • Time - The longer a young adult can be in a treatment environment, the better the chances for lasting success.
