Drug and alcohol treatment is growing and evolving to address the changing needs of clients across the globe. The definition of addiction is changing, and it is more universally accepted that addiction is a disease in need of treatment rather than a choice and a lifestyle. As the understanding of addiction has shifted, so has the need for educated mentors, counselors, and medical professionals. In recent years, the addiction treatment market has grown substantially and the need for substance abuse counselors has increased dramatically.
