Become a Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP) in Missouri

Sober College School of Addiction Studies (SCSAS) is an Approved Education Provider in Missouri through the Missouri Substance Use Counselors Certification Board, Inc. (MSACCB). SCSAS offers an online counselor training program for those who are looking to become a Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP) in Missouri. Through our approved Addiction Counselor Training program, students are able to earn all the education they need to become a CCJP except for 6 hours of live ethics that will have to be completed in a classroom or training setting. With our Certified Addiction Counselor approved curriculum you will be well on your way to becoming a CCJP in Missouri. Below are all the requirements for your CCJP in Missouri.

Criteria for Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP)

II. Criteria for those with an applicable Masters Degree

  • Applicable Masters Degree
  • 2000 hours of applicable work experience in the IC&RC CCJP Domains within the last 10 years
  • 300 hours of a supervised practicum in the IC&RC CCJP Domain
  • Signed Competency Rating Form from MCB qualified supervisor
  • 100 Contact Hours of Education to include the following:
  • 6 live ethics hours (not from online or home study)
  • 20 of the 100 hours obtained within the prior 12 months of applying
  • Successfully complete the IC&RC International Criminal Justice Addictions Professional Examination

II. Criteria for those with an applicable Bachelors Degree

  • Applicable Bachelors Degree
  • 4000 hours of applicable work experience in the IC&RC CCJP Domains within the last 10 years
  • 300 hours of a supervised practicum in the IC&RC CCJP Domains
  • Signed Competency Rating Form from MCB qualified supervisor
  • 150 Contact Hours of Education to include the following:
  • 6 live ethics hours (not from online or home study)
  • 20 of the 150 hours obtained within the prior 12 months of applying
  • Successfully complete the IC&RC International Criminal Justice Addictions Professional Examination

III. Criteria for those with an applicable Associates Degree

  • Applicable Associates Degree
  • 5000 hours of applicable work experience in the IC&RC CCJP Domains within the last 10 years
  • 300 hours of a supervised practicum in the IC&RC CCJP Domains
  • Signed Competency Rating Form from MCB qualified supervisor
  • 200 Contact Hours of Education to include the following:
  • 6 live ethics hours (not from online or home study)
  • 20 of the 200 hours obtained within the prior 12 months of applying
  • Successfully complete the IC&RC International Criminal Justice Addictions Professional Examination

III. Criteria for those with a High School Diploma/GED

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 6000 hours of applicable work experience in the IC&RC CCJP Domains within the last 10 years
  • 300 hours of a supervised practicum in the IC&RC CCJP Domains
  • Signed Competency Rating Form from MCB qualified supervisor
  • 270 Contact Hours of Education to include the following:
  • 6 live ethics hours (not from online or home study)
  • 20 of the 270 hours obtained within the prior 12 months of applying
  • Successfully complete the IC&RC International Criminal Justice Addictions Professional Examination
